FRY CLUB COLTS 3
PATCHWAY
2
Another
windy day meant the game would again be affected depending which way we kicked.
Having won the toss we went against the wind. Despite a slow start in which Patchway used this to their advantage, we took the lead
from a great curling shot from Jordan Knight. This helped us to control the
game better and start to dominate the midfield. In defence both James Boulton and James Hurrell Smith
were reading the game very well but we once again got caught out from a corner.
An unchallenged header looped over Craig Francis to pull them back 1-1 at half
time.
Confident
we could go on and win the game, we started strongly in the second half but
having given possession away and failing to clear the danger the ball rebounded
off a Patchway forward into the empty net to put them
2-1 up only 10 mins into the second half. This proved
to spur us on as we mounted attack after attack. Mo Bouaziz
was unlucky as a fumble from the keeper bounced off the post and from a tight
angle he narrowly missed. Eventually though the pressure paid off. From another
long goal kick from Craig Francis the ball bounced over the last defender for
Craig Andrews to run on and score an important goal to level the game. We
continued to keep passing the ball and 5 mins from
time got the winner from another great move for Craig Andrews to get his second
and the winner.
Another important 3 points which keeps us third and a boost for the team morale with everyone playing so well.
Man of
the Match was another close decision but for his super defensive display it was
awarded to James Hurrell Smith.
